Terms of Service

Last updated: April 2026

1. Acceptance of terms

By accessing or using Contracto.legal (“Contracto”, “the Service”), you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, do not use the Service.

2. Not legal advice

Contracto generates AI-produced contract templates. This is not legal advice.

The contracts produced by this Service are starting-point templates generated by an AI language model. They may contain errors, omissions, or language inappropriate for your specific situation. You should always review any AI-generated contract with a qualified solicitor or lawyer before signing or relying on it. Contracto accepts no liability for losses arising from the use of generated documents without independent legal review.

3. Service description

Contracto provides an AI-powered tool for generating draft legal documents. Access is provided on a subscription basis with usage limits per tier (see our Pricing page).

4. Accounts and access

  • You must provide a valid email address to create an account.
  • You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account credentials.
  • You must not share your account with others or allow multiple users on a single account (except on Team plans where explicitly permitted).
  • We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.

5. Payments and cancellation

  • Paid plans are billed monthly. Prices are as shown on the Pricing page.
  • Payments are processed by LemonSqueezy, who act as Merchant of Record and handle VAT and applicable taxes.
  • You may cancel your subscription at any time via your LemonSqueezy customer portal. Cancellation takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
  • We offer a 14-day money-back guarantee on all paid plans. Email us within 14 days of your first payment to request a full refund.

6. Acceptable use

You agree not to:

  • Use the Service for any unlawful purpose.
  • Attempt to circumvent usage limits through automated means or multiple accounts.
  • Use generated contracts to defraud or deceive any party.
  • Resell or redistribute access to the Service without written permission.

7. Intellectual property

The contracts generated by the Service using your inputs are yours to use. Contracto does not claim ownership of the content you generate. The Service itself, including its design, code, and AI prompts, remains the property of Contracto.

8. Limitation of liability

To the maximum extent permitted by law, Contracto is provided “as is” without warranties of any kind. We are not liable for any indirect, incidental, or consequential damages arising from your use of the Service, including any losses arising from reliance on AI-generated contracts without independent legal review.

Our total liability to you for any claim shall not exceed the amount you paid to us in the three months preceding the claim.

9. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes shall be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales.

10. Changes to these terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. We will notify you of material changes by email. Continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.
